Rosco's Man Crush

Apparently my kitten, Rosco, has a man crush on Dennis Quaid. As I was watching the Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan (yes, I'm still addicted to the Disney Channel at age 24) Rosco became extremely excited when Eric pointed out to everyone within a 25 mile radius that Dennis Quaid was in the movie. Rosco, who had been dozing at the time, sat straight up with big eyes, bobbing his head up and down. He watched the rest of the movie with me, and I swear that everytime Dennis Quaid was on screen, he chirped and clicked the same way he does when he sees a squirrel outside in the tree. I think it's intriguing that Rosco has been so influenced by my obsession with pop culture that he developed said man crush... but Dennis Quaid...? I don't know about that one. Apparently "Breaking Away" and "Frequency" will be new blockbuster regulars to my DVD player.

Resolutions

As 2007 starts, Eric and I have both made new years resolutions to "play along" (even though I think New Years is overrated as a holidy). I have resolved to take a multivitamin everyday. Most everyone else probably does this, but I haven't as of yet and it's one that is realistic and I can accomplish. So far, so good... I've taken both for both days of January. Eric has resolved to gain 25 pounds. Needless to say, I'd rather have his resolution than mine.

Clones of Amanda

Thanks to Erica for the link to this site! I'm not sure I "agree" with all of my matches, but some of them are either pretty close or really funny! For some reason, I couldn't get the site to collage Eric's matches, so I'll try a new picture when I've got time this weekend. For those of you interested... his number 1 match was with Julio Iglesias! HAH!

Gross: Update

Yes, I'm still sick. Slightly less phlegmy cause I've got the good drugs now. Yay for antibiotics and 24 hour sleep sessions.

Gross

I caught a cold last Wednesday night and I am still barely functioning at best (and when I say "cold" I actually mean "the mother of all phlegmy phlegm colds"). I always get sick at the worst times. I'm absolutely depressed because this week I missed what would've been a great roadtrip to a friend's wedding in Oklahoma, I used up all of my sick hours at work, it's Fall Break for Creighton (this is supposed to be vacation!), my dad is coming to town tomorrow for the Texas game on Saturday (which is actually not depressing, it's depressing that I don't have the energy to even go). And all because of my phlegm. Today's my first day back at work and I can barely sit upright for more than 15 minutes (so sleepy, so phlegmy). I find it so hard to focus, work, pay attention to anything when I've got a cold... and it's especially bad since I have to be the boss at work! I can't even sit back and just put in the bare minimum. I wish there was some magic no phlegm pill I could take and make it go away. Until then, I'll just have to bask in my phlegmliness until I can bask in it no more. Gross.

Call the ZOO!

(In honor of Billy Madison and the Giant Penguin)

Today we went to the Omaha zoo (Eric had never been and I not since I was probably 12). I think Eric was pleasantly surprised with how cool the zoo was, even though he is not as obsesssed with animals as I am (apparently I ran around like a "small child" who had never seen animals before). My favorite animals were all of the big cats (of course), the otters and the really creepy looking birds. Eric's favorites were the penguins (especially ones that were fat or loud) and the monkey who was showing us his "stuff". He (the monkey, not Eric) hung on the wire cage spread eagle and basked in his applause from weird strangers. We have video footage of the "show", so if you'd like to see it (or other pictures from our trip to the zoo) email us!

Rosco's Website

I'm sure you've all heard of MySpace, right? If you haven't, then you've probably not been close to a computer for the past 2 or so years. Anyway, I was listening to Pat and JT in the morning (hilarious dj's on Q98.5 in Omaha... listen if you're ever in the area!) and they were talking about two networking sites I had never heard of... Dogster and Catster. You can create your pets own little website with their personality profiles and pictures on it, and then they can network with other pets as "friends". Of course, Eric thinks I'm insane for doing this, but Rosco now has his own website (and currently, his only feline friends are JT's two cats.) Check it out!
